Paola Angeli was born October 7, 1970. During her school years she took piano and singing lessons and started writing songs. In 1993 she took part to Sanremo Giovani and in 1994 to Festival di Sanremo. At the same time, she published her fist LP called “Merlino”. In 1996, during the celebration for Unicef’s 50th anniversary , she won the second prize of a songwriters’ contest that was on air on Canale 5 (Mediaset).

In 1997 she graduated with a degree in Oriental History. From 1999 to 2000 she worked as singing teacher in the “Accademia Arcanto” in Bologna. In 2001 she met the producer and music arranger Giancarlo di Maria and they started together working on new projects with a deep cooperation. In the same year she won the Critics Award at Musicultura. From 2001 to 2004 she worked in the “Music Academy 2000″ in Bologna where she ran a workshop about style and vocal techniques of the italian songwriters. In 2004 she was the finalist as songwriter on the tv program “Lo Zecchino D’Oro”.

On November 30, 2004 she took part, with Michele Serra, in a performance organized by Ivano Marescotti at Conselice’s Theatre. From 2006 to 2007 she gave singing lessons in Note Colorate school in Bologna.In 2007 she won the Imaie Award and the Best Lyric Award at Musicultura. In 2008 she won the Bindi Award and the Best Lyric Award at Biella’s Festival and was also the finalist in the Premio Bianca D’Aponte. In 2009 she was one of eight Musicultura’s winners and finalist as songwriter at the children’s contest “Ambrogino d’Oro” in Milano.Since December 2009 she lives in Cerveteri (Rome). On July 25, 2010 she won the Italian Music Festival. From September 2010 she ran workshops about “songwriters’ songs” and vocal interpretation in the school “Lorena Scaccia” in Civitavecchia. From November to December 2010 she taught singing and music theory in Stefano Jurgens’ school “Piccola Accademia della comunicazione e dello spettacolo” in Rome. From January 2011 to June 2014 she taught singing in DRM school in Rome and she ran classes for the vocal re-education in preschools and schools around Ladispoli and Civitavecchia. In January 2012 she was a finalist as song author in Ambrogino D’Oro’s contest in Milano.From september 2013 she has been a singing teacher in the music school “Ieem Rievoluzione Musicale” in Ladispoli (Roma).

Actually she’s working on a theatrical performance and a new discographic project with Giancarlo Di Maria.
